Sifting through a sea of wine to bring you the best of the best in every category. 99.9% of the time that means we sidestep gimmick wines as the packaging is always far more interesting than the juice in the bottle. However as much as the team and I wanted to sidestep the SEXY WINE BOMB 2007 we could not in good consensus pass it up. What’s in the bottle lives up to the name, the packaging and the vintage!

This 2007 California Red is everything you would want from an early drinking, easy drinking red. A blend based on Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon the juice in this bottle lives up to the richness and concentration of 2007.

Yes the name and packaging are a bit out of the norm for us here at Zachys and trust me we have toiled with whether or not to carry the wine. But once I poured it for the staff (without showing them the bottle) they flipped for it as the quality, accessibility and fun was all there. I guess “Blends Really Do Have More Fun” and the Sexy Wine Bomb is “Not Just Sexy Wine…It’s the Bomb!”

"Its easy enough to come up with a gimmick to sell wine - you just need to combine some creative juice with the grapes. Often that's all you are buying - a catchy name and a boring wine. In this case -these folks are winemakers first who knew what they wanted to create and succeeded.....they just happen to have an irreverent attitude. This stuff is good - awesomely good considering it's less than 10 dollars a bottle - it tastes much more expensive."
