At Sexy Wine Bomb, the wines are serious.
Everything else, not so much.
Okay, sort of. Maybe we were just joking around a bit too much in a wine education class where it hit us like a ton of bricks just how boring, stuffy intimidating and unispiring wine is often made to be.
We wondered what could happen if we could make a wine that would taste just like we wanted and put it in a package that we find to be the complete opposite of boring, stuffy, intimidating and uninspiring.
Wine is taken so seriously by so many that we have a tendency to forget how much fun it is. We deeply believe that the stomped grapes that we ferment, blend, bottle, label and share should represent the relaxed spirit in which we make it. Because deep down we know wine is not just fun...it's sexy, smart, and somewhat ridiculous. And it never, ever fails to make us feel better.
And as for why we called it Sexy Wine Bomb, and why we put the trucker-flap pin-up chick on the bottle?

Nancy Walker: 6th Degree Winemaking Black Belt
Nancy has been making wine in California for longer than most people have lived in California. When she isn't knocking Birkenstocks with the hippies in Mendocino where she makes her home, Nancy travels the West working with various growers and winemakers and absorbing the regional and local differences that make each vineyard unique.
While it's true Nancy has spent a lot of time at small obscure wineries such as Clos du Bois, Geyser Peak, and Fetzer, as well as producing her own eponymous wines at Stephen & Walker, her real dream has always been to create a wine that would be rejected by the TTB for calling Elton John "fruity" on the back label. Sexy Wine Bomb is truly the wine Nancy was born to make.

Katie Ambrosi: Wine Mistress, Provocateur
Katie has worked in the wine industry since 2005 when she was thrilled to make the transition from 6 years in the advertising agency world spent working on wireless phone and printer ink accounts—in other words, things people need but don’t love, unlike wine.
A native of wine country hot spot, Healdsburg, Katie loves that wine makes people happy and can often be seen with a slight purple cast to her teeth. When she's not enjoying wine, you'll find Katie managing a multitude of marketing projects & people for a handful of Sonoma & Napa wineries. Like a boss.

Ray Marcinkowski, strategic renegade |
Ray Marcinkowski: Webmaster, Firebrand
After selling his wildly successful web-based software company which used GPS technology to track the whereabouts of washed-up former teen pop stars, Ray Marcinkowski spent the next 8 years travelling across Europe, scaling Alpine peaks and pursuing his life-long dream to be the first to fly a hot-air balloon to the moon.
Unfortunately, his lack of understanding of even the most basic laws of physics ultimately doomed that endeavor to failure, so Ray decided to throw himself fully into his non-profit foundation devoted to finding gainful employment for former pin-up models. Unbelievably, his compassionate & giving nature led to his finding many of them jobs within his own home!
After some time, Ray grew weary of all the travel (especially when the airlines started charging for extra baggage) and he decided to spend more time on his rolling Sonoma Valley estate. He devoted himself to cultivating grapes, raising a family with his common-law Norwegian triplet girlfriends, and building websites for a handful of small wineries. It is here where he eventually met Katie, and in time they hatched the plan for Sexy Wine Bomb, the results of which you see before you.
